  • 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tbsp sugar

    Preheat oven 350, bowl combine flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves: set aside

    Large mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar, egg, molasses.

    stir in flour with wooden spoon

    Shape dough into 1 1/2 balls.

    Roll balls in the 2 Tbsp Sugar.

    Place about 2 1/2 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake for 10 mins or until lightly browned but still puffed.

    Do Not Overbake.

    Let stand on cookie sheet for 2 mins.
