  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 Tbsp. ginger
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. molasses

Directions

    Mix together all dry ingredients and set aside.

    Cream shortening, sugar, egg and molasses.

    Add to dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.

    Form in balls and roll in sugar.
