- 3/4 c. oleo
- 4 Tbsp. dark molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. flour
Directions

1Cream sugar and oleo; add molasses, egg, spices and dry ingredients.

2Do not overbeat.

3Refrigerate.

4Roll into balls. Smash (kid's will love to help!) with bottom of glass dipped in water.

5Bake at 300° for 10 minutes, just until they are chewy. You will have to experiment with your oven and what you like.
