- 1 1/2 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 8 Tbsp. syrup (sorghum or molasses)
- 2 eggs
- 4 c. plain flour
- 4 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. ginger
Directions

1Thoroughly cream the shortening and sugar. Add syrup and well beaten eggs.

2Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Roll into small balls (size of walnuts). Roll in granulated sugar and place 2-inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350° until done, about 12 minutes.

3Store in airtight containers.
