- 1/4 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/3 c. molasses
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- raisins (optional)
Directions

1Cream together margarine and sugar.

2Add egg, beating well. Stir in molasses.

3Sift together the dry ingredients.

4Add to creamed mixture alternately with water.

5Drop from teaspoon 2-inches apart.

6Bake in a 400° oven for 8 minutes.

7Remove to rack.

8Frost while still warm.
