  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. molasses
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Directions

    Mix all together and pour onto 2 ungreased cookie sheets.

    Cut into 64 cookie bars or pour into a 9 x 13-inch greased pan and bake at 325° for 20 to 25 minutes.
