- 12 cup butter
- 12 cup brown sugar
- 1 12 cups flour (less at high altitude)
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger or 1 tablespoon minced candied ginger
- 14 teaspoon baking soda
- 18 teaspoon salt
- 12 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 300.

2Combine butter and brown sugar in saucepan to melt.

3Sift together flour, ginger, soda, and salt.

4Stir into butter mixture.

5Pat dough into square or rectangle shape on cookie sheet.

6Cut like you would a cake or bars into bite-size pieces.

7Do not separate.

8Bake 20 minutes.

9After removing from oven, re-cut peppernuts along the same lines.

10Cool, then toss in powdered sugar to coat.
