Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 c. Flour
  • 1/3 c. Sugar
  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp. Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1/4 c. Butter
  • 1/2 c. Boiling Water
  • 1/2 c. Molasses

Directions

    Sift together Flour, Sugar, Baking Powder, Ginger, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Salt.

    Add Butter to boiling water, when Butter is melted add Molasses.

    Stir this into Flour mixture and beat just enough to make a smooth Batter.

    Bake in a buttered 8 or 9-inch Square pan at 325 degrees for about 35 minutes.
