  • 2 3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 c. soft butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. molasses
  • 1 c. buttermilk

    Sift all dry ingredients together.

    Cream butter.

    Add sugar gradually, beating well.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.

    Stir in molasses.

    Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk.

    Bake in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan in a 350° oven for 35 minutes or until done.
