  • 1 c. syrup
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. pecans

Directions

    Mix syrup, shortening, sugar and eggs.

    Add flour gradually. Pour boiling water over soda and dissolve.

    Add to mixture.

    Add pecans.

    Bake in a well-greased and floured pan at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.
