  • 34 cup shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 12 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 34 cup packed brown sugar
  • 34 cup sorghum
  • 2 12 teaspoons baking powder
  • 34 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 12 cup raisins

Directions

    Cream together shortening, eggs, sugar and syrup; add buttermilk.

    Sift dry ingredients together and add to wet mixture.

    Mix well, pour into a greased and floured pan.
