- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 1/4 tsp. ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. dark molasses
- 1 egg yolk, unbeaten
- 1/2 c. margarine
Directions

1Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg, cloves, ginger and cinnamon.

2Cream margarine with sugar and molasses until fluffy.

3Beat in egg yolk and then add flour mixture.

4Roll out dough 1/4-inch thick. Cut with cookie cutters and bake at 350° approximately 12 to 15 minutes.

5Top with gingerbread frosting after cooled.
