- 2 sticks softened butter
- 6 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. molasses
- 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. grated orange
- 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- pinch of salt
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. grated lemon
- 1 c. packed light brown sugar
Directions

1Cream the butter with brown sugar until fluffy; blend in grated peels and spices.

2Put molasses in saucepan and bring to a boil; pour into butter mixture and blend well.

3Add beaten eggs; beat until thoroughly mixed.

4Sift all dry ingredients except powdered sugar and salt and add to butter mixture, stirring vigorously until dough is smooth and pliable.

5Wrap in waxed paper and chill 1 hour.
