- 4 1/2 c. all purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cinammon
- 1 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. light molasses
Directions

1Combine flour, ginger, soda, salt and cinammon:

2set aside. Cream butter or margarine and brown sugar 2 to 3 minutes.

3Beat in molasses. Stir in flour mixture just until blended.

4Chill dough until firm (1 to 2 hours).

5Preheat oven 375°.

6Divide dough into fourths.

7Working one fourth at a time, roll on floured pastry cloth to 1/8 inch thick.

8Cut with desired shaped cookie cutters. Gently transfer cutouts to ungreased cookie sheet.

9Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until edges are light brown.

10Cool slightly before removing.

11Decorate as desired.
