- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/2 tsp. cloves
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Mix thoroughly shortening, brown sugar, egg and molasses. Blend in remaining ingredients.

2Chill 1 hour.

3Roll into balls. Dip in sugar.

4Bake on greased cookie sheet.

5Bake at 375° for 8 minutes.
