Ingredients

  • 1 14 cups shortening
  • 14 cup water
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 5 -5 12 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon clove
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ginger

Directions

    Mix first six ingredients.

    Add dry ingredients.

    Let chill for 1 hour.

    Take 1 TBSP dough (I like to make them BIG!)

    , roll into a ball and roll in granulated sugar.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
