- 1 cup molasses
- 12 cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour
Directions

1Mix together molasses and shortening.

2Bring to a boil and boil for a few minutes.

3Take off the stove.

4Add the soda and stir.

5Let cool.

6Sift together the flour, ginger and salt.

7Stir into the cooled mixture, mixing well.

8Place in a plastic bag and refrigerate overnight.

9Roll out very thin on a lightly floured surface.

10Cut into rounds.

11Bake in a hot oven (425*F) for a few minutes, about 2 1/2.

12Watch very carefully as they burn easily.

13Makes about 3 dozen.
