- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. molasses
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1/4 tsp. cloves
- 1 1/2 c. raisins
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. soda
Directions

1Blend shortening and sugar, then add eggs and molasses.

2Mix flour, salt, soda and spices. Add to creamed mixture.

3Add raisins and chill 25 to 30 minutes. Roll into balls and dip top into sugar.

4Place on greased cookie sheet.

5Place 1 drop of water on top of sugar on each cookie. Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes.
