- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. Grandma's molasses
- additional sugar
Directions

1Sift together dry ingredients.

2Cream sugar and butter.

3Add egg and molasses.

4Mix dry ingredients into creamed mixture. Chill at least 1 hour.

5Form into balls and roll in additional sugar.

6Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
