  • 16 oranges slices, cut crosswise
  • 16 lemon slices, cut crosswise
  • 4 qt. Burgundy
  • 24 whole cloves
  • 4 (2-inch) cinnamon sticks, broken into 5 pieces each
  • 4 c. sugar

Directions

    Remove centers from the fruit slices.

    In a large saucepan (stainless steel or heat resistant glass), bring wine to simmering; do not boil.

    Add fruit and rest of ingredients; stir to dissolve sugar.

    Over low heat, let stand about 10 minutes. Serve in punch cups, mugs or coffee cups.
