  • 2 c. self-rising cornmeal
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can golden corn soup (undiluted)
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 c. vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsp. chopped green chiles
  • 1/2 c. (6 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • vegetable cooking spray

    Combine cornmeal and soda in large bowl. Make a well in center. Combine soup and next 5 ingredients. Add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Heat cast-iron breadstick or corn stick pans in 450° oven for 5 minutes for until hot. Remove pans from oven. Coat with cooking spray. Spoon batter into hot pans. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until browned. Remove from pans. Cool on wire racks or serve hot. Yield: 2 dozen.
