Ingredients
- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. plus 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. lukewarm water
- 4 c. flour (self-rising)
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. melted shortening
Directions

1Dissolve yeast with 1 teaspoon sugar in lukewarm water.

2Sift flour with remaining sugar and salt; add eggs, milk, shortening and cooled yeast.

3Mix. Turn dough onto floured board and knead.

4Pinch off and roll into golf ball size balls; place in greased muffin pans.

5Let rise (covered with light cloth).

6Bake at 350° until golden brown.

7Yields about 36 rolls.
