- 1/2 lb. bacon
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1 chopped green pepper
- 1 c. uncooked rice
- 1 (1 lb. 3 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions

1In a large skillet, cut bacon into small pieces and cook to crisp stage; drain.

2Add hamburger, stirring until done.

3Add onion, celery, green pepper, rice, tomato sauce plus 1/2 can water.

4With lid on, simmer for approximately 20 minutes, or until rice is done.

5If too dry, add either more water or tomato sauce (to taste).

6Just before serving and while still hot, grate cheese over top.
