- 4 lb. lean stewing beef, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
- 2 cans cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
- 1 pkg. dried onion soup mix
- 1 lb. fresh mushrooms (leave them whole unless very large)
- fresh ground black pepper
- 1 c. cream-style sherry
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Put all ingredients into casserole dish and mix well.

3Cover and bake 3 hours.

4Casserole should go right from oven to table.

5Serve with crusty bread, tossed salad and a good wine.
