- 6 apples (medium)
- 12 graham crackers
- 1/2 c. brown sugar or maple syrup
- 1 c. walnuts, chopped
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Directions

1Crush graham crackers to make fine crumbs.

2Mix crumbs with brown sugar and chopped walnuts.

3Set aside.

4Peel, core and slice apples.

5Arrange in buttered 8-inch baking dish in alternate layers with crumb mixture.

6Dot top with butter and pour lemon juice and water over all.

7Sprinkle with nutmeg.

8Cover and bake in slow oven at 350° for about 30 minutes until apples are cooked to a jelly. Serve hot or cold with cream or whipped cream.
