Grandma'S Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1/4 c. mashed potatoes (save out 1 c. potato water that potatoes are cooked in)
  • 1 pkg. Fleischmann's yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3 c. flour
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon
  • margarine

Directions

    Dissolve 1/4 cup sugar and the shortening in the potato water; cool to lukewarm.

    Add yeast, salt and beaten egg.

    Stir in 3 cups flour (not sifted), one cup at a time (so it's smooth).

    Let stand 15 minutes.

    Put in refrigerator overnight in a bowl, covered with wax paper.
