Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp. lard
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. cold water
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 12 c. flour
Directions

1Pour boiling water over lard, sugar and salt.

2Use large bowl. Stir until dissolved.

3Add 1 cup cold water and let mixture cool to lukewarm.

4Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water.

5Add to other liquid.

6Add flour.

7Mix well.

8Let rise to double bulk; knock down and let rise again.

9Knock down and knead well.
-
10Put in greased and floured bread pans and let rise again.

11Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.

12To keep crust soft, coat with butter while still warm from oven.
