- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. milk
- butter (as required)
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder and salt.

2Cut in shortening with fork.

3Add cup of milk and blend until dough pulls away from sides of bowl.

4Turn out on lightly floured board.

5Knead lightly and roll 3/4-inch thick.

6Cut out biscuits.

7Place on lightly buttered pan and brush tops of biscuits with butter.

8Bake at 475° for 12 to 15 minutes.
