- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 4 c. self-rising flour
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in warm water.

2Mix together sugar, shortening and buttermilk.

3Blend in 4 cups of self-rising flour, 1 cup at a time.

4Cover lightly and refrigerate overnight or 3 to 4 hours before using.

5Roll out dough and cut with biscuit cutter and let rise 2 to 2 1/2 hours.

6Bake in 350° oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
