Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 medium chopped onion
  • 1 to 2 cloves minced garlic
  • salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
  • 1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
  • 8 to 10 Anaheim green chiles, roasted, peeled, seeded and chopped or 1 can chopped green chilies
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 2 c. water
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 6 to 8 flour tortillas, warmed

    Brown pork.

    Add pork, onion, garlic, salt and pepper.

    Drain juice of tomatoes into stock pot.

    Chop tomatoes; add to pot.

    Add green chilies and jalapeno pepper and 2 cups water.

    Stir well and simmer, covered, for 45 minutes.

    Whisk together flour and 1/3 cup water until smooth.

    Add to chili mixture; stir constantly until well blended and slightly thickened.

    Cover and simmer about 15 minutes.

    Serve with warmed tortillas.
