Grilled Banana Split

  • 2 tbsp. dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 4 firm bananas (unpeeled)
  • 1 pt. vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 c. pecans

    Heat grill to medium-high.

    In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon.

    Cut the bananas lengthwise and crosswise, leaving the peel on.

    Lightly oil the grill.

    Place the bananas cut-side down on the grill and cook until slightly charred, about 2 minutes.

    Using tongs, turn the bananas, sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture and cook until the peels begin to separate from the bananas, 2 to 3 minutes more.

    Discard the peels from the bananas.

    Divide the bananas among bowls, top with the ice cream and sprinkle with the pecans.
