  • 4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 c. quick-cooking grits
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. grated processed cheese, divided
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. milk

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    In a large saucepan, bring the water to a boil.

    Add garlic powder, salt and pepper.

    Gradually stir in grits.

    Lower heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.

    Remove pan from heat.

    Stir in butter and 1 cup cheese until melted.

    Mix eggs with milk; stir into grits.
