  • 1 loaf cocktail-size rye bread (Pepperidge Farm)
  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 (4 oz.) pkg. crumbled Bleu cheese
  • 2 to 3 dashes oregano
  • 2 to 3 dashes thyme
  • 2 dashes each: salt and pepper

Directions

    Mix all ingredients by hand, breaking up any large chunks of cheese.

    Spread evenly, not thick, to edges of rye bread.

    Put under broiler for 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbly.

    The crusts burn easily, so watch carefully.

    Serve immediately.

    Can be made ahead of time and refrigerated.
