  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 3 c. raisins
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, unbeaten
  • 1 c. thick applesauce
  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Directions

    Wash raisins and dry in warm oven. Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy.

    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
