Gumdrop Fruit Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 c. candied cherries
  • 1 lb. chopped dates
  • 3 rings candied pineapple
  • 1 lb. shredded coconut (fresh or Baker's flaked)
  • 1 lb. pecans
  • 1 (15 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 lb. small gumdrops (all colors except black)

    Mix all fruits together.

    Let stand overnight.

    Add condensed milk.

    Mix thoroughly with hands.

    Line 2 loaf pans with heavy, well-greased brown paper.

    Press mixture down.

    Bake 30 to 45 minutes at 300°.

    Decorate top with pineapple, cherries and pecans just before taking from oven (optional).
