- 1 1/2 lb. bite size stew meat
- 2 1/2 sticks margarine
- 4 bay leaves
- 2 to 3 onions
- 8 whole cloves
- 8 to 16 oz. cold water
Directions

1Melt margarine in Dutch oven.

2Pepper and salt stew meat. Brown meat in margarine.

3Remove stew meat.

4Bring margarine to boil; add the water 2 ounces at a time.

5Cover with a lid after adding water.

6Repeat this step.

7Add bay leaves, cloves, cut and sliced onions and meat.

8Simmer on low heat until meat is tender. Before serving, remove bay leaves and cloves.

9Serve with mashed potatoes.
