Ingredients
- 12-1 lb hamburger
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 2 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 onion, medium,chopped
- 2 quarts water
- 12 cup barley or 12 cup rice
- 16 ounces canned tomatoes
- 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 bag frozen vegetables, your choice
- salt
- pepper
- garlic powder
Directions

1Partially brown the hamburger and drain.

2Toss in the celery and onion, and cook until translucent.

3Drain again.

4Pour in water.

5If using barley, toss in and simmer 1 hour.

6If using rice, simmer 1/2 hour and then toss in rice and simmer 1/2 hour more.

7Partially chop the tomatoes, and add the potatoes and vegetables.

8Simmer 45 minutes more.

9Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste.
