Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. oil
  • food coloring
  • 4x sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon, orange or butterscotch extract (if using)

Directions

    Stir the sugar, syrup and water until dissolved.

    Boil to 295° on candy thermometer; remove from heat.

    Add the oil and desired food coloring.
  4. 4
    Pour onto cookie sheet covered with 4x sugar. Break into pieces.
