- 1 cake fresh or 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 egg whites, beaten stiff
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 4 c. flour
Directions

1Soften yeast with 1/4 cup lukewarm water; add remaining water. Add sugar and shortening.

2Add 1 cup flour; beat well.

3Add yeast and egg whites; mix through.

4Add remaining flour and salt to make soft dough.

5Rise once; punch down and let rise again.

6Brush with egg yolk diluted with water.

7Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.
