- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- few grains pepper
- 1/8 tsp. cloves
- 1 (No. 2) can sliced beets (2 1/2 c.)

1Melt the butter or oleo; add flour and blend.
