- 6 medium-sized beets
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. butter
Directions

1Wash the beets and cook in boiling water until tender. Remove the skins.

2Cut the beets into thin slices or cubes. Set aside. Mix the sugar, cornstarch and salt.

3Add the vinegar.

4Boil the sauce for 5 minutes stirring constantly.

5Add butter.

6Pour sauce over beets and let stand for a few minutes to absorb the sweet-sour flavor.
