Hawaiian Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 14 ounces crushed pineapple, with juice
  • 2 large bananas, sliced
  • 1 cup coconut, flaked
  • 12 cup nuts, finely chopped (I use pecans, but try Macadamias)
  • 1 -9 inch pie shell, baked

Directions

    In a saucepan, mix together the flour and sugar.

    Add the crushed pineapple with juice.

    Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly.

    Pour half of the mixture into the pie shell; cool.

    When filling is cooled, add a layer of bananas, a layer of coconut and finally the chopped nuts.

    Top with the rest of the pineapple mixture.

    Chill.

    (I like to chill this for at least 4 hours)

    Before serving spread with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
