- 6 c. sifted plain flour (Pillsbury baking flour)
- 1 stick butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. Crisco oil
- 1 c. sugar, less 2 Tbsp.
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 c. hot water or more if needed
Directions

1Combine Crisco, butter, sugar and hot water.

2Stir until sugar is dissolved and butter and Crisco are very soft.

3You may have to heat this mixture to get the butter and Crisco to dissolve.

4Beat eggs in bowl and set aside.

5Stir yeast in warm water in separate bowl; set aside.

6When the butter, oil and sugar are cool, add eggs and yeast; stir.

7Add salt to flour and gradually stir the flour into the mixture.

8Add only enough flour to make it sticky, but not stiff.
