- 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. warm milk
- 1 stick (1/2 c.) butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 4 c. flour
Directions

1Add milk, melted butter, salt and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

2Add yeast.

3Beat in 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour, beating well after each addition, until you have a stiff but workable batter.

4Cover bowl; let rise slowly until double in bulk.

5Punch down with wooden spoon for a minute, then scrape into well buttered 9-inch tube pan.

6Let rise to top of pan.

7Bake in a 375° preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until bread is golden on top and sounds hollow when rapped with knuckles.

8Serve warm.

9Butter outside of bread for soft crust. (Instead of cutting, break with 2 forks.)
