- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/3 c. Crisco shortening
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Heat oven to 475°.

2In a bowl, rub flour and shortening together with hands until mixture looks like meal.

3Add buttermilk and stir until it forms a ball.

4Turn dough onto a floured surface. Knead lightly until dough is no longer sticky.

5Roll out and cut into 16 biscuits.

6Roll dough into 1/4-inch thick if biscuits are to be folded over.

7Bake 8 minutes.
