Ingredients
- 1 2/3 c. sifted flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1/2 tsp. celery salt
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 c. melted butter
Directions

1Sift flour with baking powder, onion salt, salt and sugar. Stir cornmeal and herbs into dry ingredients. Combine egg, milk and melted butter. Add all at once to dry ingredients.

2Stir until dry ingredients are well moistened but still lumpy.

3Pour into well-greased 8-inch square baking pan, muffin pan or cornstick pan. Bake at 425° for 25 to 35 minutes until top is golden brown. Serve hot.
