- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage
- 1 (12 ounce) bottle alaskan ESB beer
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, finely grated
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°F.

2Grease and flour a large (9-inch) loaf pan.

3In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sage.

4Stir in the Alaskan ESB and cheese until complete blended.

5Spread evenly in the prepared pan.

6Bake until a thin wooden skewer inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean, 50-55 minutes.

7Cool the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
