  • 1 large fryer, cut up
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 3 small onions, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. parsley, minced
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Directions

    Rub chicken with salt and pepper.

    Heat butter in a skillet and brown chicken on all sides.
  3. 3
    Remove chicken to crock-pot and saute onions, garlic and parsley in the same butter for a minute or two.

    Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients.

    Pour over chicken.

    Cover and cook for 4 to 5 hours on low.
