- 2 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 envelope dry yeast
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
Directions

1In a large ceramic or glass bowl (don't use metal), dissolve yeast in water.

2Add flour and sugar and beat with whisk until smooth.

3Cover loosely and leave at room temperature 48 hours. Makes 2 cups of Starter dough.

4Use 1 cup for Herman coffee cake or other recipes and give the other to a friend.
