- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

3In medium microwave-safe bowl, place butter.

4Microwave at High (100%) for 2 to 2 1/2 minutes, or until melted.

5Stir in sugar and vanilla.

6Add eggs, one at a time, beating well with wooden spoon after each addition.

7Add cocoa; beat until well blended.

8Add flour, baking powder and salt; beat well.

9Stir in nuts, if desired.

10Pour batter into prepared pan.

11Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until brownies just begin to pull away from sides of pan.

12Cool; cut into bars.

13Makes about 36 brownies.
